Bulletin for Sunday 10/03/2004
PRATERS FIRST SUNDAY
Robert and Maggie Prater along with their two daughters Megan and Mackenzie will be arriving at their home at 125 Meadows Lane later this week. Their telephone number is 878-8826. Robert's first Sunday to preach for us will be October 3. We should all plan to be in worship at Central that Sunday to give them the warmest welcome possible.
FELLOWSHIP MEAL SUNDAY
In celebration of the Praters' arrival we are planning a fellowship meal at noon Sunday. The meat will be provided, and members should bring the rest. We expect a large number of visitors, so bring enough for them as well.
BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST
Kenton McGalliard put on his Lord in baptism this past Sunday evening to the delight of all of us. Kenton is a fine young man who has been brought up in a devoted Christian home. We congratulate him and his parents Tim and Janice McGalliard along with his grandmother Mariella Jacobs. His brother Tad McGalliard was also with us for this grand moment.
HOME AGAIN
Marcia and I deeply appreciate our being allowed to visit children and grandchildren in Mississippi and Georgia for the first time in two years. Dodging Hurricane Ivan proved a little challenging, but we were able to do so, and we rejoiced that our children who live just a few miles from where the hurricane made landfall suffered minimal damage. And now it has been good to be home again and to have children and grandchildren from Oklahoma City present in the last worship service in which I served as your pulpit minister. Thank you for 18 wonderful years and for the opportunity to continue serving you. I deeply appreciate Joe Magee, Bob Perry, Ron Taffe, and Bob Seikel for teaching classes and preaching in my absence. And now let's all get behind Robert and Maggie giving them the very best of our cooperation as they take their place among us and enhance our work and growth in the Master's Kingdom. - WDD
ADDRESS CHANGES
Rose Manor is closing which has necessitated a move for two of our members. Lucille Bowers has moved into room 96 at Colonial Estates, 535 W. Federal, Shawnee, OK 74804. Her phone number remains the same.
Ruth Pratt has moved to Sunset Estate, 201 W. Walnut, room #23, Tecumseh, OK 74873. She will continue to receive her mail at 1410 N. Philadelphia, Shawnee, OK 74801.
SYMPATHY
We express our loving sympathy to Joan Reeves in the unexpected loss of her brother Wayne Fackler this past Sunday morning in Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral services were pending when the Gospel Guide was prepared.
PLACING MEMBERSHIP
Alta Carroll who has visited several times with us has expressed her desire to be a member. She has recently moved from Ohio and resides with her daughter Barbara Pruett, at 19605 Malone Rd., Tecumseh, OK 74a873. This is the former Theo Bennett home. Alta and Barbara will have a phone by next week. We extend a warm word of welcome to them to Central and Shawnee.
PRAYER CONCERNS
Fay Crosby is now home after a stint implant at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital on Wednesday of last week. It was good to see her back in worship. She is doing well.
Harvey and Carletta Moore are home after tests at MD Anderson in Houston. All went well, and it was great seeing them in worship Sunday.
It was also good seeing the Honakers able to be in worship.
Look forward to seeing you here Sunday!

YOUTH NEWS
Bob Stephens
What a wonderful thing we had the opportunity to witness Sunday evening. Kenton McGalliard was baptized into Christ! It's great to see young souls decide to commit their lives to Christ. Let's remember to keep Kenton and all our teens in our prayers as they face the world and it's temptations everyday.
Saturday we watched Courtney Baskin and Sean Parman run in a cross country meet at Gordon Cooper. Courtney and Sean both represented Shawnee High School well. Up until last week, Ryan Parman was running too, but an injury has sidelined him for the duration of the season. Hang in there Ryan!
Friday night the youth from the Contact Church in Tulsa will be here to spend the night at the youth house, kind of a retreat for them. Our youth will have a combined devo with them after the football game Friday night. So plan to be there!
COMING YOUTH EVENTS
September 30 - Thursday - Help Prater's move in
October 1 - Friday - Devo at youth house with Contact kids, after football game

"He is intangible and invisible. But His work is more powerful than
the most ferocious wind. The Spirit brings order out of chaos and
beauty out of ugliness. He can transform a sin-blistered man into a
paragon of virtue. The Spirit changes people.
The Author of life is also the Transformer of life."
