We express loving sympathy to all the family of Ida McIntyre. Ida departed this life on Saturday evening at the age of 102. A long time member at Central, she will be greatly missed by many. Dwyane Dennis conducted funeral services at Resthaven Funeral Chapel on Wednesday afternoon.

We also express our love and sympathy to Judy Hartley and all the family of Faye Lowry. Faye went home to her maker on Sunday morning. Funeral services were conducted by Cliff Craig on Wednesday at Gaskill Funeral Home.

We extend loving sympathy to Geneva Green in the recent loss of her brother, Wayne D. Howell in Jasper, Texas. Funeral services were conducted on November 19.

We express our sympathy to Joan Reeves in the recent loss of her aunt, Elsie Moore. Elsie passed away Sunday morning in Keystone. Funeral services were conducted in Shawnee at Resthaven Funeral Chapel on Thursday afternoon.

I appreciate your visits and many expressions of concern during my recent illness. I even appreciate your concern for Duncan. I've learned my lesson. In the future I'll keep my hand out of the dog's mouth. Thanks also for the teasing. I choose to believe that means you love me.

Teens will be hosting a Gingerbread Party on December 12, after morning worship for children ages 2 and up in the fellowship room. Lunch will be provided and gingerbread houses will be made. Parents are welcome to leave their children.

There will be a Christmas party/fellowship for all those in Robert Prater's Sunday morning Young Adult/Families class on Friday evening December 17 at 7 p.m. at the home of Bob and Louise Perry. Please bring finger foods, pop, or desserts. Also, please bring a Dirty Santa gift (no more than $10).

Not to be outdone, all Adult Seniors (anyone too old to go to the Young Adult party) are invited to a Christmas party in the fellowship room on December 17 at 7 p.m. Please bring your favorite snack. Each person attending should bring a $5 to $10 wrapped gift for Dirty Santa Clause.

When the Gospel Guide was prepared, Harvey Moore remained at Southwest Medical Center, room 601. Charles Thomas has been discharged from the hospital. Denise Beard's newborn great nephew is greatly improved and has been discharged from the hospital. Larry Smith's sister, Doris Oldham has been discharged from the hospital after a heart attack.

Last Saturday was the last of our two Warmth from the Heart coat giveaways. Call it a lack of faith on our part, but we didn't expect nearly the same amount of people to come as our first giveaway. Well, "O, we of little faith!" Saturday's results were once again tremendous. Although there were slightly fewer people than on October 30^th, overall, we served seven more family groups than last time. We helped 78 family groups, for a total of 240 people. This year's two giveaway totals: we distributed 1340 total clothing items to 149 families, for a total of 528 people! We also gave out a large number of New Testaments, tracts, and literature about the Lord's church here at Central. On Saturday, several families expressed a desire to attend our services. Eight families asked for Bible correspondence courses and ten families asked for someone to study the Bible with them. Many also expressed the need for prayers on their behalf to overcome many problems in their personal life. Brethren, once again the Lord has given us a wonderful opportunity to follow up on those who came and reach out to them with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Please continue to pray that souls will be receptive to the gospel message.

We are so thankful for all of the members of the Central Church of Christ who have worked so diligently and volunteered to help in some way during our coat giveaways this year. We also continue to give our appreciation to Ron and Debbie Taffe for all their labor and organization they put into this ministry. And we are especially once again grateful for the overwhelming way you have responded to the requests for donations. Even when we announced this past Sunday morning that there were still several more families that needed to be served with coats who came on Saturday, you donated once again with a flood of sacrificial giving. As a result, we have funds available to be able to now purchase enough coats and serve all the families that came needing a coat for this winter season. Friends, your loving generosity and donation have made a great statement of care to this community. Thanks for all that you do and will continue to do for the Lord. Let's keep praying that God will bless our efforts.

Sunday evening a few of the kids went to the Area-wide Teen Gathering at Cherokee Hills. The theme for the night was "Obey your Thirst" coming from the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:6) "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled." The speaker helped us to see the importance of being hungry and thirsty for Godly things, not the stuff the world has to offer. We all need to be reminded of that every so often. Stuff of this world will never quinch our thirst like the love of God will. Let's strive to thirst for the Godly, righteous things, because when we do we will be blessed and filled.

Well, football season is over and basketball season has started for our teens. Those playing basketball this year are: Chad Beard, Sean Parman, Ryan Parman, Matt Stephens and Andy Stephens. Pray for them that they may have a safe season, and that they will let Christ shine through them on the court and off. Congratulations goes to Andy Stephens who was voted by his teammates to be co-captain for the Tecumseh Savages this year. Good job Andy!

This Sunday the teens will be hosting the younger children of the congregation to lunch and a fun time of building ginger bread houses. Teens don't forget to bring the items you signed up for. Oh yeah, don't forget to come!
