SYMPATHY
We express our loving sympathy to Joe and Phyllis Scheidt and Mariella Jacobs in the loss of their daughter, stepdaughter, and cousin Cathy J. Scheidt of Scarsdale, New York. Cathy departed this life in her home on April 2 after battling with cancer since September. An evening of remembrance was scheduled for Tuesday of this week.
AMONG FRIENDS
with Robert Prater
For the last two weeks I have preached on the qualifications of an elder (with one more to come on the qualifications of a deacon). We are in the process of looking for spiritual mature men who can help our current four shepherds oversee this congregation. Our elders have asked you to begin to look for men in the Central family who have the desire, ability and qualifications to serve as an elder. Beginning Sunday, there will be elder and deacon selection forms made available for you to begin submitting names of men who you believe are qualified to serve in these leadership roles. Choosing leaders is one of the most significant events in the life of a congregation. Make prayer a priority as you select additional elders and deacons.
For the past two Thursday evenings there has been a debate-style discussion between two preachers from the church and two leaders of the Mormons. It has provided very helpful and needed resources, especially if you are interested in knowing more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). The sessions were recorded, and are available. Free MP3 audio files will be available at the website of the Eastside Churchof Christ www.eastsidechurchofchrist.org
If you prefer a different format (DVD, VHS, CDs, and Cassettes), order forms with the costs are now on the table in the foyer for you to pick up. Also, Central will be ordering a copy of cassette and VHS tapes for our church library which can be checked out for those wanting to view and use this material.

NEWS FROM THE SAUVILLERS
Dear brethren,
Remember us? We're Robert and Florentine Sauviller from Belgium. Last February we tried to return and join you in worship on Sundays. We were sent back home by the authorities so we couldn't visit you.
We'd like you to know that we worship on Sundays at the "Gemeente van Christus" Dutch for Church of Christ, in a place called Deurne in the province of Antwerpen. Paul Brazle is the Minister. This congregation counts with 45 members but there are more people coming on Sundays. That's the reason why they are transforming a room at the back of the building into the new auditorium where there will be place to fit 150 people. We joined forces and were part of a group of people who helped on the 2 work days, Robert assembled the new kitchen cabinets while I helped to sort out heaps of paperwork. There is still a lot to be done in the near future before the auditorium and kitchen will be ready and there are more workdays to come. We enjoyed the chance of getting to know these people a little bit better. They are very nice to us and we love it there after we had a difficult start at first. They have a very different way of doing things around here but now we are kind of getting used to it. We hope that you all are doing great, that you enjoy spring and that we see each other soon! Love from your brother and sister in Christ,
Robert and Florentine
You can e-mail the Sauvillers at ccamsav@hotmail.com They would appreciate your interest.
THANK YOU
To all concerned:
Thank you for your acts of loving kindness during my illness. Thank you for calls, cards, food, grocery shopping and especially your prayers. Thanks to Chuck & Nona for removing our wayward chicken. Love in Christ, Anita [Jacques]

Youth News
Bob Stephens
Last night the teens had their monthly Dinner and Devo. Sean Parman did an outstanding job of planning our devotional time together. He gave us something to think about concerning what we needed for our salvation. Thank you Sean!
The guys and dads retreat is April 22 and 23. We plan to go to the Quail Ridge Hunting Lodge in Tecumseh on Friday night. We will spend the night at the lodge and after breakfast Saturday morning we plan to do some target shooting. Brian, Chris and Tanner Nipper will be there to help with target shooting and Joe Curtis will be there with some older, antique type guns. The cost is $5.00 which should cover dinner, breakfast and ammo. Please plan on bringing snacks for Friday night. There is a sign up sheet in the youth house, please sign up so we can have an idea of how many to expect (there's room for up to 30). If you have any questions, see me.
We are planning to go on the AWTG trip to Texas again this summer. The dates are July 20-21. The cost for Six Flags and Rangers game is $30.
