VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL -July 11-15

Our much anticipated Vacation Bible School here at Central begins on Monday, July 11 and goes through Friday, July 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. We will also have a special concluding Friday Night Open House program at 7:00 p.m. for all children, family, friends and members to attend. VBS is always one of the highlights of the summer. It is a very special time for our children. It is such a tremendous way to help strengthen and teach them about God and the Bible and to provide them a memorable experience in their life. I am grateful for the lasting impressions for good that VBS made on me. Another advantage in having a VBS is that it provides many opportunities for outreach in the community. Non-members are often willing to bring their children. They do not feel that they are forsaking their own church and they feel less intimidated by a VBS.

The theme for our VBS this year is BIBLE SAFARI - - "Where Kids Are Wild About God." Our kids will go on an expedition through the pages of the Bible to learn some of the fascinating stories that teach us about our relationship with God. Soon many of the building's classrooms, hallways, fellowship room, and even the auditorium will begin its transformation to stage the VBS drama and background as we prepare to teach these amazing stories to the children. So many have worked and continue to work long and hard hours in much preparation for this VBS!

Friends, now is the time to invite your neighbors, friends, and family's children to come join us for our VBS. There are some 5 x 8 invitation cards on the table in the foyer that you can pick up and hand out or mail to those who you would like to see attend. If mailing they do require a first class postage of 37 cents. Also, if any children need help with transportation, please let myself or the church office know as soon as possible. There are VBS enrollment forms on the table in the foyer. We need all members to pre-enroll your children, grandchildren, and any visitors that you will be bringing. So please pick one up, fill it out, and return the completed forms back to the marked tray in the foyer. ATTENTION LADIES: If you are not helping in some capacity for VBS, here is your opportunity. Please bake your favorite homemade cookies (yes bought cookies are also accepted). You can bring your cookies to the kitchen beginning next Sunday, July 3. Friends a successful VBS depends upon the diligent labor and work that the whole church puts into it. Please continue to pray and work towards making this year's VBS a success.
