SYMPATHY
1912 VIOLA FAYE YATES 2006
We express our love and sympathy to all the family of Viola Yates. Viola departed this life on July 5, and Dwyane Dennis conducted graveside funeral services the following Saturday morning. Viola was a longtime member of Central.
We also extend our sympathy to Pat Copeland in the loss of her mother-in-law, Thelma Copeland who passed away on June 30 in Tecumseh. Services were held on Monday July 3 in Tecumseh.
AMONG FRIENDS
with Robert Prater
Vacation Bible School is almost upon us here at Central. This is always one of the most exciting and valuable events of this congregation. There are so many good reasons to have a VBS. It strengthens Bible knowledge and faith and teaches respect for God and His Word. It allows children to learn Bible truths in a fun environment. It increases interest in the Sunday morning Bible school of this congregation. It opens doors of opportunity with visitors who bring their children to our VBS. There is far less prejudice against a VBS than many other efforts of the church. A large percentage of the students are from non-member homes. VBS enriches all who help and makes for a stronger tie in the church. More people are involved in VBS than in any program of the congregation. VBS is a wonderful advertising medium; it builds interest and respect in the church. Friends let's all get involved in VBS, advertising it, attending it, and spreading the word about it. You can make a difference!
So beginning next Monday through Friday, we need all parents, grandparents, and members to bring children to our VBS. Please don't forget to fill out the VBS enrollment forms which can be found on the table in the foyer. We need to pre-enroll your children, grandchildren, and any visitors that you will be bringing. Also, remember that if any children need transportation, please indicate so on the form. I am so grateful and thankful for all the many faithful and dedicated workers that we have here at Central. So many are helping in all kinds of different ways. May the Lord bless us with a terrific week of learning as we study from His Word. Please continue to pray for the success of our VBS and for all involved and those who will be attending.

On Friday night, beginning at 7:00 p.m. we will have a special concluding VBS Program followed by an Open House with hotdogs, cold pop and watermelon for everyone to enjoy. All the members of the congregation are invited and encouraged to attend.
REQUESTING PRAYER
Anita Sharp recently requested prayer in her behalf to be a more discerning Christian in her speech. We appreciate Anita's faithfulness and devotion.
Yuavonda Sperry came forward on Sunday morning, July 2 and wanted to express her deep appreciation for the Central congregation for all the prayers and support during the past year of trials. She also requests continued prayers on her behalf. Let's all give these two sisters in Christ our encouragement and prayers.
