AMONG FRIENDS
with Robert Prater
Have you noticed all the change in the trees around the area? Such beauty could only come from an all loving and gracious God who loves us and wants to bless our lives. The leaves declare God's glory and handiwork. (Psalm 19:1) Take a moment to stand in awe of the power and might of our Creator God. God is so very good to us all. Let's be thankful for the wonderful life and world He has given us. "This is what God the Lord says, he who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it." (Isaiah 42:5 NIV)
Life has many twists and turns. One day may bring happy surprises, while the next brings regret or disappointments. Through it all is our precious God, who loves and keeps us in the hollow of His hand. It is truly a blessing to be a part of His family and to know that He is watching over us. "I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved." (Psalm 16:8)
Finally, be looking forward to Sunday, November 5, as Dr. Mike O'Neal, president of Oklahoma Christian University will be our special guest speaker that morning. He'll be speaking on the subject of "Education of God's People" during the combined adult Bible class and the morning worship service. The Central congregation has many OC ties and connections and has supported and promoted the school for many years. Don't miss this rare opportunity to hear the president of this fine school speak to us concerning an important topic today. Oh, yes, please also don't forget we'll have a potluck luncheon as well on that day.

This Saturday, October 28th, the youth group will be going to the Corn Maze, just north of Shawnee, and then to the Gettles to eat and watch scary movies. We'll be leaving from the church building at 6:30. The cost for the maze is around $7.00.
The next AWTG will be November 5th at Southwest in Ada. Phillip Johnson from Westside in Norman will be speaking. Phillip is the college minister at Westside. We'll leave the building at 3:45 and return by 8:30.
Be watching for the date for our annual hayride! We hope to have it in November before it gets too cold out! We should have the date pinned down by the next bulletin. Be looking for it.
