AMONG FRIENDS
with Robert PraterSYMPATHY
1925 Bettie Boswell 2007
We extend our loving sympathy to Bertha Ann Young and all the family of Bettie Boswell. Bettie passed away on Friday morning of last week, and Dwyane Dennis was to conduct funeral services at Walker Funeral Service Chapel on the following Wednesday. Bettie and her mother, the late Margarite Boswell, were converted to Christ by attending Bible classes at Central many years ago and were members here the rest of their lives.
We also extend our sympathy to all the friends and family of Leon McDonald. Leon was an elder at Little for many years and was the father of Lonnie McDonald who is an elder at Northridge. Leon and his wife were well known to many here at Central.
APPRECIATION
We are deeply indebted to Scott Perry, Steve Kelly, and Jim and Vivian Cross for all their efforts in snow and ice removal around our building making it safer for us to get in and out of the building this past Sunday. Thanks so much.
THANKS FOR THE CHRISTMAS FRUIT
Thank you for the Christmas remembrance, Joyce Kelly
To whoever has opened this letter, Thanks for the Christmas sack which had apples, oranges, candy, nuts, and maybe some other things that I have forgotten. Anyway - thanks for the goodies and the thought behind it. Gerald [Akin]
I want to thank the church for the Christmas sack of fruit, candy, and nuts. I enjoyed it very much. Nadine Collins
I would like to thank the Central congregation for the sack of goodies at Christmas time. Sue Riedel
The members of Central have been so good to us. When we first moved here, the Monday night ladies brought us a beautiful basket full of goodies welcoming us to the congregation. Paul and Paula Harris gave us a wonderful CD of gospel music. Ron and Debbie [Taffe] gave us a very good movie. Several of the members came by to visit us and had us over for dinner. Now at Christmastime we were given an old-fashioned sack of fruit, candy, and nuts which brought back a lot of good memories and a visit from Burl and Barbara Vanlandingham who brought it over to us. We want to thank everyone for the sacks and gifts. We are so proud to be members of such a loving and caring congregation. Thanks everyone so much! Love Barney & Jo Sneed

BIBLE QUESTION BOX
Once again during the month of January you are invited to submit any Bible related questions - specific Bible questions, topics, or texts in which you have an interest or concern and you would like to have addressed from the pulpit. There will be a question box located on the table in the foyer where you may place those questions. Then, starting with the first Sunday night in February, Robert Prater will begin considering those questions on Sunday evenings.
We hope to see you here Sunday!

Youth News
Bob Stephens
Wow, what a week last week was! An unexpected week off for the kids and teachers. It seemed nice at the time but now comes the task of making it up. What are the school districts gonna' do? Could they take away spring break? Or maybe tack on days to the end of the year? Nobody knows yet. It's a lot like reaping what we sow. We think to ourselves, "this will be fun," without thinking of the consequences for our actions. But Scripture tells us we will have consequences for what we do. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But what we do in life does come back to visit. Let's make sure that in everything we do, we remember to include God in the plans. We can never go wrong when He is included.
