Bulletin for Sunday 09/07/2003
1927 GEORGIA PASSONS 2003
We extend our loving sympathy to Diane Moore and to all the family of Georgia Passons.
Georgia departed this life on Tuesday of last week after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted by
Dwyane Dennis at Gaskill Funeral Home Chapel the following Thursday. Georgia was a devoted Christian
and loved by many for her kind and gentle manner. The loss of both D.O. and Georgia in so short a time
is a great loss for Central.
We also express our sympathy to Louise Honaker in the loss of her second cousin,
Glen Smith. Funeral services were conducted at the Little Church of Christ on Tuesday.
I would like to express my deepest appreciation to the elders for their kind and
thoughtful suggestion that I stay with Marcia this past Sunday during the time following her surgery.
I also wish to offer my gratitude to Bob Seikel for teaching my class, to Chuck Carter for
preaching in my place Sunday morning, and to Bob Perry for preaching Sunday evening. Any number of
you have told me what fine lessons they all presented. That, of course, is no surprise to me. ==WDD
Dearest members of the church,
We can't thank you enough for all your kindness and thoughtfulness during our sadness and loss of our
mother Opal Neal. She loved the church at Tenth and Bell and all the saints who worship there.
The meal for our family was so appreciated! God bless and keep you.
Thanks again. Love, The Family of Opal Neal
The family of Opal C. Neal wishes to express sincerest gratitude for all of the thoughts, prayers,
and gestures of kindness brought forth by your congregation. To the ladies and gentlemen who so beautifully
delivered songs of praise at her service - we thank you. Your voices were exceptional, and we knew you were
truly singing from the heart. Opal was smiling in heaven. Also to the kind ladies who prepared the nice
luncheon following the service - it was delicious, and your generosity is truly appreciated. Opal loved
this church, and now we've had a shining example of what she loved so much. God bless you.
Roger, Beth & Jeremy Little; Bart, Jennifer, Bo & Jacob Barfield; Mike, Nancy, Rudy & Josiah Miller
We extend our best wishes to Herman and Ruth Guin on becoming great
grandparents again. Nikkolos Paul Guin was born August 25 in Oklahoma City weighing seven pounds,
six ounces, and was 20 inches long (much longer than the usual Guin, WDD) The parents are John and
Lashonda Guin, and the grandfather is Steve Guin.
AN ITEM OF HISTORIAL INTEREST
Judy Hartley was recently going through her grandmother's things and found
the program that was printed for the opening service of our building in January of 1942. This is an important
document because it fills us in on some points of our history for which details were not fully remembered in
recent years. Copies have been made and placed on the table in the foyer. You will find it interesting reading.
We express our gratitude to Judy Hartley, daughter of Faye Lowry, for sharing this valuable document
with us. It will be framed and kept for posterity.
Lloyd Lofties has moved from apt. 1 to apt. 6 at the Golden Rule Assisted
Living Center. Please note this change in your directory.
