Bulletin for Sunday 11/23/2003

The most recent Chemnitz report which arrived recently is much too long to be printed in the Gospel Guide. You can find a complete copy on the bulletin board, and we will be happy to make you a copy of your own if you request it. Recent campaigns have gone well. Much of their time has been spent in the States due to the illness and death of Larry's father, Don Sullivan. Larry was in the process of conducting a gospel meeting in Augsburg when he wrote this report. A Christian by the name of Joel Muller has moved to Chemnitz to help with the work there for at least a year. He will be supporting himself by teaching English.
Work on the church building is on hold for now. They were able to finish (90%) the restrooms before their recent campaign. There is still much to do, but funds are not available. The cost of the building project and the weak dollar have had an effect on their being able to finish the project. If you have an interest in helping them, you may contact them at their overseeing congregation, Cuba Ave. Church of Christ, P.O. Box 117, Alamogordo, NM 88310. All contributions are needed and appreciated.
Their daughter, Kendra, has recently graduated from high school and will be enrolling at Oklahoma Christian University in January.

We extend our best wishes to Geoff and Carolyn Root on the birth of a new granddaughter, Natalia Grace Mesones on Saturday morning of last week in Alexandria, VA. She weighed eight pounds, five ounces, and was 20 inches long. Jorge and Amanda Mesones are the parents, and all are doing well.

A trip to view the Christmas lights is scheduled for the evening of December 4 for those who would like to go, especially our senior citizens. We will leave here in time to eat at Jake's Rib in Chickasha and then tour the light festival in Shannon Springs Park. A sign up sheet is on the table in the foyer if you would like to go. This sheet also includes information on the prices of the meal. The exact time of leaving will be announced later. If you have questions, see Buddy Truesdell or Chuck Carter.

Youth News
Bob Stephens

Teens, if you haven't signed up for LTC yet it's not too late! Parents, encourage your kids to get signed up. The sign up sheets will be in the youth house until next Sunday.

Teens, we have an opportunity to serve! This Saturday morning we will be cutting up and removing tree limbs from Millie Riley's backyard. Be at the building at 9:00 a.m. We will be done by noon, in time for lunch out. So bring some gloves, a strong back and a little cash and we'll have FUN serving God by serving others!

We have good news and bad news. The good news is Shawnee is still in the hunt for football fame. The bad news is they're playing next Saturday evening in Noble. Since we have several teens in the band and need to be there to support their school, we will not have our hayride scheduled next Saturday. However, we will take the van to Noble to cheer on the wolves. We'll leave the building at 6:00 p.m. and return after the game.

November 23, Sunday - Girls baking day @ the Cheney's

November 25, Tuesday at the House/Deliver & movies.

Never give the devil a ride -- he will always want to drive! ;^{)
