1917 E. D. TURNER 2004
We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the family of E.D. (Elias Dee) Turner. Brother Turner departed this life on January 1, and Dwyane Dennis conducted graveside services at Resthaven Memorial Gardens this past Monday morning. Brother Turner and his wife, Zelma, were always faithful in their attendance until failing health made it impossible.
We offer loving sympathy to the family of Beulah Harmon. She died on Monday, December 29, and memorial services were conducted the following Wednesday at Resthaven Funeral Chapel. She was the mother of our Lynn Harmon.
We also extend our sympathy to the family of Jo Epps. She passed away a few weeks ago in Lewisville, Texas. She was the wife of brother Paul Epps who also died recently. Brother Epps was the minister at Central from 1973 to 1976.
This past Sunday Betty Rye requested our prayers that she might be restored to faithful service in the body of Christ. She would also like to be a member of the Central congregation. She was formerly a member at East Main. Betty is the mother-in-law of Darlene Todd who is the daughter of Burl and Barbara Vanlandingham. Betty's address is 710 North Louisa, Shawnee, OK 74801, and her phone number is 273-0961. We are delighted to see Betty's renewed commitment.
FINAL COAT GIVEAWAY
The last Warmth from the Heart coat giveaway for this winter will be on Saturday of this week, January 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. We still need your help in acquiring knit caps, gloves, and coats for children, ages 6 to 16. See Ron or Debbie Taffe if you have questions.
We express our very grateful appreciation to Scott and Tamie Perry for opening their beautiful new home to the entire congregation on New Year's Eve. After a devotional at the church building, we had a lovely time eating too much, playing games, and socializing. Thanks again to Scott and Tamie for their great hospitality.
We also express our appreciation to Bob and Janet Stephens for planning the special New Years Eve activities for our youth group.
We also want to express our appreciation to "Santa's Helpers" who recently distributed the bags of fruits, nuts and candy. They were Glendon & Juanita Combs, Bill & Bertha Combs, Jim & Cathy Pettyjohn, James & Joan Reeves, Vesta Mayes, John & Beverly Aylor, Ann Bivins, and Royce & Kathy Peerson. We especially express our appreciation to Glendon & Juanita for organizing and directing this annual event which is appreciated by so many.
A special word of thanks is also due to Roger Farris for planning our devotional for Thanksgiving Eve, to Tim McGalliard for planning the Christmas Eve devotional, and to Bob Stephens for planning the New Year's Eve devotional. This requires much more time and effort than most of us realize and is greatly appreciated.

There are really not enough words to express my thanks and appreciation to all of you for your expressions of love, care, compassion, and concern for me and my family during the last couple of weeks as we struggled with the tragedy that befell our lives. A very special thanks to Dwyane and Marcia, Ron and Debbie Taffe, Terry Banta, and David Nail for attending Ronnie's memorial. It meant so much to me for you all to have been here. My church family is very precious to me, and I love you all so very much. Thanks again for everything. Kathryn Shields
