BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST
Viola Yates was baptized into her Lord on Thursday afternoon. She had been baptized at an earlier age, but memories of that occasion have faded. She wanted to know in her own heart that she had done it for the right reason. We appreciate Viola's devotion and desire to be right with the Lord.

WARMTH FROM THE HEART
Ron Taffe reported Sunday that during the 2003/2004 Warmth from the Heart coat giveaways there were 67 family groups assisted with an average of 2.2 children in each family. There were 96 adults and 136 children. Those assisted ranged in age from three months to 92 years. The clothing given away included 232 coats, 40 wind breakers, jackets, sweaters, or vests, 175 pairs of gloves, 160 stocking caps, 20 adult blankets, and twelve baby blankets. There were 99 New Testaments given away and, for the children, 94 copies of "Would You Like to Know Jesus?." Nine people have expressed an interest in having someone study the Bible with them or to take a correspondence course. Several families were assisted with additional items such as food, furniture, and other material needs. Many expressed the need for prayers in their life to overcome grief, poverty, family separation due to incarceration of one or both of the parents, and addictions to drugs or alcohol. We will be following up on these, and you may be called on to assist at the appropriate time. From Central there have been over 50 families who have assisted in this ministry. ??? "secret angels" donated coats. Working together has brought our church family closer together. We are deeply indebted to Ron and Debbie Taffe for planning and executing this effort. They, in turn, express their gratitude for so many who made it all possible with their help in many different ways.

Our teens are starting to get busy. Leadership Training for Christ is just a couple of months away! We have 24 kids involved this year, that's 2 more than last year. Please encourage them to be where they need to be and do what they need to do as we prepare for April. Also, if you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late. There is still a couple of weeks before the REAL and final Deadline, so let me know if your interested.
Congratulations to Zach Qualls who was crowned Band King at the Christmas Band Concert in December. Zach is a senior in the youth group and we all love and appreciate him. Way to go Zach!
Burnt Cabin is June 13 - 19 this year. It has already been posted in the bulletin but it never hurts to have a reminder.
Some folks grow older with birthday, it's true,
But others grow nicer as years widen their view,
And a heart that is young lends an aura of grace,
That rivals in beauty a young, pretty face.
For no one would notice a few little wrinkles,
When a kind, loving heart fills the eyes full of twinkles,
So don't count your years by the birthdays you've had,
But by things you have done to make other folks glad!
