ABOUT THE OC LECTURESHIP
Since the Gospel Guide is received by people throughout the brotherhood, I feel it is my responsibility to clarify last week's endorsement of the OC Lectureship. At that time, I was under the impression that all the speakers of concern had been kind enough to withdraw from participation. I later learned that only one had done so. Consequently our congregation was told that if they attended the Lectureship to be aware that not all of the speakers believe the same things they do on a number of issues. We love OC and deeply regret the problems that have been experienced this year. We are praying for OC and hope we'll have a happier report to give next year. WDD
FAREWELL GET TOGETHER
Sunday, February 1, will be Royce and Kathy Peerson's last Sunday as members at Central before their move to Holdenville. We appreciate their many years of fellowship and service in this congregation, and they will be greatly missed. We wish them every happiness in their new home. There will be a get together in their honor in the fellowship room following Sunday evening's worship. Ladies are asked to bring cookies. Everything else will be provided. If you would like to contribute to a gift certificate, please see Juanita Davis, Marcia Dennis, or Paula Harris.
We extend our sincere sympathy to all the family of Afton Kelly. Mr. Kelly lived in Mena, Arkansas and departed this life on January 16. Funeral services were conducted in Walden, Arkansas the following Thursday and in Oklahoma City on Saturday. He was the brother-in-law of Joyce Kelly and the uncle of Steve Kelly.
We would like to express our very deep appreciation to Quality Home Medical Equipment Company at 1112 N. Harrison. When we brought in an old wheelchair to be repaired for use at the elevator entrance, they donated an almost new wheelchair. If you happen to be in their place of business, let them know how much we are indebted to them for their kindness.
We congratulate Lois Lanier on the birth of a new great grandson, Mason Clay McDonald on January 13. His parents are Clay and Debbie McDonald, and his grandparents are Lonnie and Ann McDonald. Mason weighed seven pounds, twelve ounces and was 22 inches long. Everyone is doing well.
We also congratulate Norma Cowden on the birth of a new great grandson, Garrett Michael Robison on Saturday, January 3 in Shawnee. He weighed eight pounds, two and a half ounces. Parents are Dannon and Steve Robison. Grandparents are Randy and Joye Cowden and Rob and Terri Robison.
