1905 LETHA BUFORD 2004
Longtime faithful member Letha Buford departed this life on Sunday afternoon after a brief illness. She was dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Kyla Farris and to all her family. Graveside services were conducted at Resthaven Memorial Gardens on Tuesday morning.
MAYBE PEOPLE DID DESCEND
Because..... some are stubborn as MULES about church work, sly as a FOX in their business deals, busy as BEES spreading the latest gossip, quiet as a MOUSE in spreading the gospel. They have eyes like a HAWK to see the faults in others, and are as mean as a SNAKE when they don't get their way. They are eager as a BEAVER about barbecues, but lazy as a DOG about prayer meeting. They are as noisy as CROWS before worship, and slow as a SNAIL in visiting the needy. Many are NIGHT OWLS on Saturday night and BED-BUGS on Sunday morning. Some are slippery as EELS on Sunday night and scarce as HEN'S TEETH on Wednesday night.

As many of you know, Robert and Florentine Sauviller are returning to Belgium, Tuesday, June 22. They were both baptized during their time here, and we have come to love them deeply. They will truly be missed, and we pray every blessing for them in the future. It is our fervent desire that sometime in the not too distant future they will be able to return to this area as permanent residents. A reception is planned in their honor on Sunday evening, June 13 at 7. Dessert will be provided. Please bring snacks and sandwiches. If you would like to contribute to a money tree, please see Marcia Dennis, Leoh Roberts, or Barbara Vanlandingham.
Thank you for all your cards and best wishes this past week as we celebrated our 50 years of marriage. Our church family is very special to us, and we love you all,

The retreat was a success. We were blessed with good weather and we had a great time. Our theme was "Where Do I Fit?" We discussed the importance of everybody being an important piece of a puzzle. It's hard to tell sometimes what a puzzle picture is going to look like until all the pieces have been put together. It's just not complete without every piece. That's how it is in the church and in our youth group. When we're all together - all the pieces - we form a beautiful picture of Christ that people will pay attention to. But when we aren't connected together, when we have pieces missing, no one knows what we are. Even though we're different and unique from each other and may have different talents and gifts, we do have one thing in common, our love for the Lord. Remember we all are part of a picture that's just not complete without you!
Church camp is next week. We will be leaving Sunday as soon as morning worship is over. We will be loading camp stuff into the trailer before class. Don't forget to pack yourself a sack lunch and pop for the trip.
