YOUTH NEWS

Bob Stephens

Wow! What a great time we had last week! Sixteen of our Central kids spent the past week at Burnt Cabin Christian camp. You won't be surprised to hear that our kids were exceptional (they always are). They took leadership roles in Devotionals, Worship, Bible studies, and in Volleyball and Softball. Here are a few of the accomplishments they were recognized for Friday night. Andy Stephens, Jason Perry, and Wade Baskin were chosen to be All-Stars in volleyball. Lindsey Perry and Matt Stephens were softball All-Stars. Wade and Matt's team won first place in sports this year. Mariah Bollinger, Zach Qualls and Austin Beard's team won the Sweepstakes Award (this award included daily Bible verse memorization and quizzes). Adam Beard received a Spike award (most Christ like attitude) from the Senior Boys Counselors one day and also received the Director's Award. Zach received the Spirit of Camp Award. And we have royalty in our midst, Lindsey was chosen Camp Queen and Matt Camp King.

With about 150 kids at camp last week, there were plenty of people to choose from for these awards. But our kids stood out as leaders in everything they did. I commend our youth for their exceptional behavior and their parents for training them up in the Lord!

Coming Events:

June 27 - Sunday - Activity with Seminole Youth (after PM worship)

June 28 - Monday - AWTG @ Tecumseh (leave at 6:30 - return 8:30)

June 29 - Tuesday - Volleyball, dinner, Bible Study with Choctaw - $2 for food)

The mere act of prayer is abhorrent to the forces of evil, and you will find that there will be all kinds of hindrances (depression, doubt, frustrations and so on). Many of those hindrances will have the smell of sulfur smoke about them.
Steve Brown ---- 8^{)
