ONE IN CHRIST
The Detroit newspaper photograph pictured an angry group in a church building lobby attempting to block a television cameraman from capturing the chaotic scene on film. The headline of the article read, "Police called to restore calm after tempers flare at church."
The irony of the incident caught by the photographer was seen in a sign hanging on the wall. The sign read, "United together for the exaltation of Christ." Regrettably, there wasn't enough time to slap up a more honest motto - perhaps something like, "Divided completely and falling apart for the humiliation of Christ."
The article reported the seething saga of controversy and ongoing confrontation over leadership issues in the church. The reporter ended the article with a sentence that was supposed to sound encouraging. It read: "There were no fights or injuries Sunday."
WRONG!!! Jesus Christ, who was an eyewitness, observed the fights; He saw the injuries. He would have seen the rifts in relationships, the wounds caused by words, the hurt that will be hard to heal. And He would have reported His own pain. There may have been no blood shed that Sunday, but Jesus shed his blood so that His followers might fit together - not fight together. May we always, for His sake, "Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace" (Ephesians 4:3). Dr. Dennis Lynn, Chapel Chats, Cascade College, Portland, Oregon

Dearest Church Family,
Thank you for the many expressions of kindness extended to us. The cards, calls, and visits were very uplifting. Dale, the singing was grand. We received many compliments on the beautiful music! Dwyane, the service was outstanding! The personal comments were so precious to us and so true of my mom. Our lunch was so delicious. Our family and friends enjoyed the food and fellowship. Also, the flowers were so beautiful. Thank you for being so thoughtful of us. We love you all and will miss everyone.

To the best of our knowledge we have no one from Central in the hospital at this time.
Louise Honaker was discharged from Unity South on Saturday.
Inez McNutt and Lillie Smith are both home from the hospital.
It was good seeing Thelma Divine, Clovie Dossey, and Lillie Smith back in our worship Sunday.
