He received his Associate Degree in Administration of Justice from Pasadena City College, his Bachelor of Business in Administration in Business Management from the University of Central Oklahoma, and his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Central Oklahoma. He married Debbie Fleming at Central on September 3, 1976. Ron and Debbie have one adult son, Kevin. Debbie enjoys helping with the annual coat drive, singing, and visitation. Ron initiated our coat drive. He enjoys preaching and teaching. He assists with LTC and enjoys singing when possible. He designed and maintains the church's web page. He works for Northrupp Grumann which is contracted to the State of Oklahoma. He is a computer programmer and a system analyst. His hobbies are helping Debbie on E-bay, reading, and music.

Buddy Truesdell was born July 7, 1932 in Maud. He was baptized at Central by J.T. Marlin in 1943. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1950. Buddy had a four year football scholarship at Oklahoma A & M. He used one year of that and then came home to marry the late Melita Cole in Sulphur in 1951. After Melita's passing, he married Fay Coppage Reynolds in 2002. Buddy has two adult children, Kathy and Charles. He has four grandchildren. Fay enjoys working in the nursery, but would also enjoy teaching the 2nd and 3rd grades. Fay has a special interest in the elderly and would like to see the 49'ers reinstated. She has a goal if visiting every Central home she hasn't been in. Buddy has served well as a deacon once before. He coordinates the singing for most of our funerals and weddings. He has taught Bible classes for the youth in years past. Buddy is the son of the late Chuck and Odean Truesdell. He worked for Southwestern Bell as an installation and cable-splicing foreman until his retirement in 1986. His hobbies are golf, hunting and singing.

Youth News
Bob Stephens

I'm sure Robert will be giving you a full report on our VBS in his article. We had an incredible week, everybody really pitched in well to make it a success to God's glory. But you know me, I want to brag on the youth group! We are truly blessed to have such an excellent group of young Christians at Central. Many of them spent most of the day Saturday and Sunday before VBS and then after worship that night helping to set up and decorate for the week. They arrived early each morning to get ready for whatever their task was for that morning whether it was acting in a drama (bringing the Bible stories to life), helping in crafts, games, classes, or puppets. Then many returned that evening to work out plans for the next day. We ask a lot of our kids sometimes and they always take care of business without complaining. That says volumes for their love for Christ and willingness to put Him first in their lives. I hope the example they set inspires you as much as it inspires me. They live up to the challenge that Paul gave Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:12, "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." Thank you teens for your example!

Our kids have another chance to serve this Saturday. We will be leaving the building at 8 a.m. to go to the Oklahoma Food Bank in OKC. We will be working outside in the Urban Harvest gardens until around 3 p.m. The food bank is a nonprofit organization that helps feed hungry Oklahomans everyday. So you need to bring sun screen and a sack lunch. We'll provide plenty of water. Also, we will eat out on the way home, so bring a little cash.

We are planning a float down the Illinois River. The dates are August 7 - 8. We will be going to the Perry's to spend the night Sunday after evening worship, then float the river the next morning. Information sheets with prices and waivers will be available Sunday morning. A sign up sheet will be in the youth house.

Coming Youth Events:

July 23, Saturday - Work Day @ Oklahoma Food Bank, leave at 8 a.m. - arrive back at 6 p.m.

July 25, Monday - AWTG @ Cherokee Hills, leave at 6 p.m., arrive back at 9:30 p.m.
