Bulletin for Sunday 01/20/2008
with Robert Prater
In recent days I have been working on getting all my activities for 2008 scheduled and on my calendar and the office calendar. It promises to be a busy year again this year. Some of the highlights of the year will certainly be once again our Friends & Family Day on April 20 with Tim Lewis. We also have a fall Gospel Meeting scheduled for October 5-8 with Phil Sanders. Other important dates to remember are Burnt Cabin Camp which will be June 8-14 and Vacation Bible School which will be July 14-18. Of course, there will be plenty of other activities throughout the year. Please put all of these dates down and clear your calendar so that nothing will keep you from benefiting from these opportunities for spiritual growth, outreach, and service.
Soon in the coming weeks you’ll be hearing about an exciting evangelism plan for Central in 2008. You’ll be haring about how every Christian can play a vital role in the evangelistic work of God’s church. In the meantime, be praying for our congregation. Pray for the Lord’s work to be successful this year here at Central. Pray for our elders, deacons and ministers. Pray for our Bible class teachers and visitation workers. Pray for the involvement of as many members of this congregation as possible. Pray for the lost souls of this community that they might truly have open and receptive hearts to hear the gospel.
Friends always remember that people must hear to believe and must believe to be saved. So we must speak and share the gospel with others! The apostle wrote, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” (Romans 10:13-14 NIV) In writing to his dear friend Philemon, Paul said, “I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.” (Philemon 6 NIV) This is God’s plan and purpose for every member of His church.

Dear Christian friends, James asked me to write a thank you note for him to the Monday night ladies group to let you know that he was so surprised with the gifts of socks, hankies, and candy and tell you he could not express in words what this really meant to him to be remembered in the nursing home. It is so good to be where you can visit with family and friends on a daily basis. He is very inspired. In Christian faith & love,
James Childers (by Ellen)
To my Christian family, Thank you so much for your wonderful prayers, and all the beautiful cards while I was in the hospital. I love you all.
Dear Christian friends, Thank you so much for the cards, calls, and other expressions of sympathy after the loss of our dear brother Robert. We appreciate those who attended the service in Holdenville more than we can express. The love that the Central Church continues to show is amazing. We love each of you.
