Bulletin for Sunday 9/06/2009
With Robert Prater
I hope all the Central members with children and grandchildren are making plans to attend the Family Fun Night on Saturday, September 12 at the Incredible Inflatables Fun Center. This is the business owned and operated by Scott and Tamie Perry. This event will be used to reach out to several of those visitors from our recent summer VBS. What an ideal setting for better fellowship and encouragement with them. All of which are excellent opportunities for outreach. So it is important for your presence and participation – who knows when an opportunity to meet a visitor and initiate interest in the gospel and the Lord’s church will present itself. Will you be here? Will you bring your children, grandchildren, and friends? I hope you won’t miss out on this great night of fun, fellowship and outreach.
Now, speaking of outreach opportunities this fall. Previously we had a Gospel Meeting scheduled in October. However due to a number of factors, it has been decided to reschedule that meeting for another date sometime next year. However, there will be other special outreach opportunities this fall. Besides the Family Fun Night mentioned above, beginning the day after that event, on Sunday, September 13, I will begin preaching a six part special Sunday morning sermon series on “What’s It All About?”
One of the fundamental issues of humanity is finding meaning. That begins with the meaning of our own lives, but also extends to other aspects of life. We will address subjects like Jesus, the Bible, the church, worship, and salvation. These topics will deal with some very fundamental truths. My desire is that these lessons will not only be encouraging and faith-building for all of us, but in addition, ones you can invite friends and acquaintances to hear. Be looking in next week’s bulletin for a schedule of the topics in this series. We will also have some invitation postcards for you to use to invite others to come hear these lessons.
Friends, always remember, your life makes a difference – either for good or for bad. Live with passion for the spiritual, and your life will make a great difference for good! “In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 NIV)

Dear Central Family, It’s during difficult times that we learn how much our friends really mean to us. We appreciate your overflow of cards, food, flowers, and encouraging words during the illness and passing of my grandmother. Love, Rob, Maggie, Megan, Mackenzie &
Beard! Chad received an award from the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation recently. He earned the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Awesome job Chad ! Not only is he an inspiration to all of us here at Central, but he has been an inspiration to people everywhere. Chad
Our kids are back at school. Things have kind of slowed down…or have they? Most of our teens are incredibly busy with those extracurricular activities they have during the school year. It could be band – sports – work – could be anything. It seems that kids today can get pulled in every direction at any given moment. Parents, let’s make sure that we always help our children when it comes to prioritizing the important things in life. Let’s make sure our kids know what’s number one. GOD When we put God at the top, everything else will fall into place for us. Matthew 6:33 tells us “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
