PRAISE HIM 2010
Area Wide Worship Shawnee
As I recently mentioned from the pulpit, please be marking your calendars for Sunday evening, January 3 at , for the first ever, Praise Him 2010 – Shawnee Area Wide Worship service which will be held at the Heart of Oklahoma Expo Center (
fairgrounds, off US Hwy 177). This event is being sponsored and hosted by the Bell & Farrall, Central, Lakeview, Northridge and Shawnee congregations. Highland
Please, now is the time to start making plan to be there. We want to see 500 souls in attendance on this night, and this begins with the members at Central. Please, don’t let any excuse keep you away. It is important for you to be here. If you attend another congregation, please, make your plans to be with us.
Friends, this great gathering is sure to be an uplifting and encouraging time of worship and Christian fellowship with fellow brothers and sisters in the
area. We also want each member to take advantage of this as a special opportunity to invite their non-Christian neighbors, friends and family to come experience beautiful Shawnee
a cappella singing and hear a brief inspirational message.
Our guest speaker will be Phil Sanders, who is a minister and associate speaker for the Search program television ministry in
and who held a Gospel Meeting for us back in September of 2008. In addition to brother Sanders speaking that evening, we are also delighted that Phil will be with us at Central that Sunday morning of January 3 teaching the combined teen and adult classes and preaching for us. Edmond
Our worship leader for the area wide service will be Terry Hackworth, former youth minister and currently a deacon of the Fort Gibson Church of Christ. Terry is highly regarded for his song leading experience and will lead a balance of familiar older and newer songs. The focus of the entire service will be positive and unifying.
Now, at the close of the service, the Lord’s Supper will be provided for those members who need to partake of it. There will also be free child care provided for infants to age 5. In addition, we will have refreshments of coffee and cookies to be served afterwards for a period of fellowship.
Plus, there is one final treat, immediately following this area wide service, all area youth groups (5th-12th grades) are invited out to Star Skate located at 37303 W. 45th Street (just off US Hwy 177) for a great night of fun and fellowship open just for us from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The cost will be $5 per person in addition to concession.
So hopefully you can see why I get excited just talking about this special day. Friends, please keep this special service in your prayers and do plan to join us. It is our prayer that God will be glorified through this effort and the body of Christ in this area will be united in greater love and unity.

We had a great trip to Oklahoma Christian last Sunday to watch Matt and Jill Sloan perform in
and Carols. Matt and Jill did an awesome job and the kids now know that Requiem means a really long song in another language! We also learned that Deiondre Whiting can eat his weight in frozen yogurt! Literally! Be sure to ask him about it! Cocoa
