MATT SLOAN

This past Sunday morning Bob Perry announced on behalf of the elders that Central has ended its intern relationship with Matt Sloan and his work with our youth.  Matt has served admirable the past two summers and this past school year as our intern youth minister and has done a good job.  This decision was made after much prayerful evaluation and discussion including budgetary concerns and feedback from the parents.  It was decided that it would be in the best interest of Matt’s future and our goals for the youth to end our intern relationship as of last week.  This will give Matt time to actively look for an after graduation minister position and will allow us to make plans for the future.  The elders greatly appreciate the leadership, work and Christian examples of both Matt and his wife Jill.  We are thankful for the impact they made on the youth and entire congregation.  We are confident the Lord is going to bless them with a wonderful ministry in His kingdom in the years ahead.

PARENTS PLANNING MEETING

The elders would like to invite all the parents of the youth and other interested members to a planning meeting after the evening services on Sunday, September 26.

Thank you so much -everyone- for the surprise celebration for Trey’s Outdoor Championship.  We were very surprised and appreciative.  You have been so supportive of us over the last two years, and we really love and appreciate you.

FAREWELL LETTER

To the family at Central, Jill and I want to thank you all for your love and support during our time here working with the youth.  We had grown to love you all and felt so at home with this congregation.  The meals we had together, time we spent in your homes, events we attended together, VBS, and so much more will remain great memories we shared with you all.  A special thanks goes to Bob and Janet Stephens for their incredible example we got to learn by, and for Rob and Maggie for their help in getting us started, also for Frank and Rita Romberg for "adopting" us and making sure we were taken care of, for Steve and Mary Kelly for their great encouragement and support, and for the youth group for allowing Jill and I to be able to work with you and to learn the ropes of being a youth minister.  But we couldn't have done it without the parents, for allowing us to take their kids to events and plan trips for them and to be an example for them. The elders of this congregation I also want to thank for allowing us to work here for the past two summers and for supporting us in our work.  We will miss you all and will hold dear to our hearts our feelings of warmth felt here at this church. May God continue to bless you and keep you.        Matt & Jill [Sloan]
