ARE ALL RELIGIONS TRUE?
There is a religious pluralism abroad today which says that all religions are equally true, or that one religion can be true for some and another for others. Such concepts are not only invalid, they are self-contradictory.
‘JESUS’ IS THE SAVING NAME. The apostle Peter by divine inspiration boldly declared, “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
It’s no wonder Peter made such a proclamation because he knew what God had done for Jesus. God gave Jesus “power over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom thou hast given him. And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent” (John 17:2-3).
Jesus has “power” or authority over “all flesh.” He has power to beget children of God and to give eternal life. “But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God; who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:12-13). And how does Jesus define eternal life? Listen! “And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent” (John 17:3).
‘JESUS’ IS THE HIGHEST NAME. “Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).
Because of these great truths I love to sing the hymn by Robert Gay:
No other name but the name of Jesus
Is worthy of glory, and worthy of honor,
And worthy of power and all praise.

The youth celebrated Halloween by doing what I called “reverse trick-or-treating.” We made goodie bags filled with candy and went around to some of our church member’s houses passing them out. The youth seemed to have fun with it. More importantly those we visited seemed to enjoy it. It was just great taking time out to visit others.
(Our young people are so awesome)
This Saturday Janet Stephens is putting together a ‘Girl’s Day’. She is still working out all the details but it will most likely be from 10-2 at the building. Lunch will be provided. It should be a lot of fun, and if I was a girl I know I would be there.

TIME TO STEP DOWN
Americans enjoy an abundance of freedoms. From what career we’ll pursue to what we’ll eat for lunch, we’re constantly making decisions about what we want out of life. So it’s hard to find peace when our plans go awry and our circumstances seem out of control.
A wise person suggested, “For peace of mind, resign as general manager of the universe.” What if we stepped down and let God be God? He created the universe, after all. Shouldn’t we trust him to run it”
