GREAT FULL TO GOD
By Jimmy Hyde

Well, God is good; Amen? It’s amazing to me I almost have my first month behind me. I’m beginning to learn names and get to know people. It’s been a real blessing getting to know my new brothers and sisters here at Central. Keep praying for God’s blessing on us selling our home. Also pray for me and our leadership here at Central as we work to meet the needs of this church family. May God bless our congregation, our families, and our service to others.

Remember…..

This Sunday, August 4th we will have our fellowship meal following evening services. Thank you to Abbie Cross, Angie Gober and Tami Perry for hosting our fellowship meal. We also need to be in prayer for Ann Bivins as she transitions from the secretarial work here to being at home with her husband, Bob.  Thank you Ann for over 14 years of faithful service as our secretary. God bless you and Bob.

Are You a Body Builder?

You know it’s really inspiring when you see someone of “average build” commit to eating healthy, exercising, and working to build muscle. You can watch them slowly change from average to amazing. I know, I know, I’m not exactly a body builder, but I do want to call you to be a body builder. The Bible refers to the church as “the body of Christ”. We should always be striving to build up the body of Christ so that we can grow and be healthier and stronger. Will you be a body builder? “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”  1 Cor. 12:27-28 NIV

“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”  Eph 4:11-13    NIV

Youth News
Nathan Kelly

We survived the float trip with only a couple of minor injuries. The water was up and the temperature was mild. It was a great day to float. It was a relaxing day to float. The only problem we had, if you want to call it a problem was kids "accidently" falling into the water. The kids all did a great job. I think they had fun. They didn't complain much, and their only complaint was being hungry, because we didn't get off the river until 1:30. I know I'm talking about the kids a lot, but I couldn't have done this trip without help. I had Scott and Tammy Perry and Mark and Kasey Stancell chaperone the trip. They were a big help and allowed us to have an adult in every raft. So that was a huge help. Then I had my wife who kept the stress off me some by stepping in and controlling the chaos so I could focus on the little details. Most importantly, Robert and Ann Perry for housing us for the night, putting up with some loud noises at night, and feeding us breakfast. We are blessed to have so many care and involved with the youth. One more thing, I would like to say how proud I am of the newer members of the youth group. We had a Bible study Sunday night and I was pleased to hear the newer kids step up and speak out. They were more vocal than the older kids. As if you had any doubt, they proved that there will be great leadership in the youth group in the coming years.

Hope to see you Sunday!
