FAMILY NEWS
By Jimmy Hyde

God blesses us well beyond what we deserve. Praise God. If you haven’t heard, God has blessed the Hyde’s with a wonderful home. We will be moving into our new home in about 3 weeks. Let’s thank God for answering prayer.

Looking Forward

This coming Sunday, September 1st, we will begin a new Sunday morning Adult class series upstairs. I will be teaching on the topic of the Christian Family.  We will also begin a Sermon Series on Sunday morning looking at the Body of Christ, what we are supposed to be as the church. On Sunday evenings we will look at answering the question, “Who is God?”  Use these opportunities to invite your friends and family to study these different topics.

 But It Looks So Good.

I just wanted to give you a quick reminder from our lesson last Sunday night. Don’t eat that donut! It’s the bread of death.

“Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval." John 6:27  NIV

Remember where to find your sustenance.

35 Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. John 6:35 NIV

May you and I always look to Christ, who is our bread of life, to sustain us in our everyday life. We must resist the bread of death that the world offers. Sure it looks and taste’s so good as we take it into our lives, but soon after it brings disease and death. Let’s join together and feast on the bread of life. See you Sunday and Wednesday.

THANK YOU

Dear Friends at Central, Thank you so much for the beautiful flower arrangement you sent to us during this sad time. It is so heartwarming to see how many people cared about Pawpaw. We appreciate your thoughtfulness so much. Thank you again, The Vanlandinghams

YOUTH NEWS
By Nathan Kelly

This Sunday, September 1, we will be having a movie night after evening worship; as there will be no school on Monday. Summer is now over, therefore our theme will be summer. Let’s see what movies you will bring that will fit this theme, and I would love to hear you justify your movie. Also, bring a box of cereal and we will make it a cereal night. I look forward to it.

“You can’t call Jesus Lord without declaring yourself his slave.” This is out of Kyle Idleman’s “Not A Fan”; the book the youth are currently studying out of. Have you ever stopped to consider this statement? Have you even thought of yourself as being a slave? It’s something that we’ve heard but don’t always think about. If you were to look at many of the letters in the New Testament, written by Paul, Peter, John, James, and Jude, they all address themselves as slaves of Christ. It’s not something that we dream about for our lives, but it’s something that we are supposed to be. We can’t really call anything ours, it all belongs to God, so don’t let what isn’t yours get between you and Jesus. Give him your life and service, and in return you will receive his protection.
