FAMILY NEWS
By Jimmy Hyde

Well, we celebrated Labor Day and now must return back to laboring. From what I’ve heard many of you had a lot of great family time and fellowship over the holiday weekend this last week. Times are going to get a little crazier for the Hyde family as we get ready to move. Say a little prayer for us, we will be closing on our home in Bartlesville on Friday the 13th and then closing on our new home here on Monday the 16th. Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement for me and my family as we have been working through this transition.

Especially your Eternal Family

We began our look at the Body of Christ this past Sunday and looked at the idea of family in the church. The blood of Christ bonds us together for all eternity. May we always remember the words of God concerning our lives of doing good.  “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”     Gal 6:7-10 NIV

Let’s join together as God’s family to do good to everyone we can, but especially to our church family. God has really blessed us here at Central with a loving group of brothers and sisters. God bless us as we grow in our goodness.

SONSHINE SISTERS

Our first Sonshine Sisters meeting of this year will be Monday, September 9th at Paula Harris’ home. Bring your favorite salad and ideas to share with your Central Sisters.

YOUTH NEWS
By Nathan Kelly

The AWTG’s begin again  this Sunday, September 8. They are now on Sunday nights and will usually be  at 5pm. The first one will be located at South Yukon. We will leave the building at 4pm and should be back around 8pm. I’m looking forward to these again, and I hope we can keep the high numbers we had over the summer. It’s very encouraging to know that we have to take a car along with the church van to go to these.

I visited my brother-in-law a couple of weeks ago at Britton Road Church of Christ. As I left, I saw their marquee read “Give Satan an inch and he will become a ruler.” I couldn’t help but smile. It’s very clever and funny but within the humor is truth. Satan only needs a little room to cause damage. He’s like a cancer. With time, he will spread unless you get it treated or removed. Don’t allow him to be a ruler. Don’t give him an inch in your life.
